Junior High Program (7-8)
Sharpening the Edge
Turning Fundamentals Into Skill
At the junior high level, we turn fundamentals into skill. Wrestlers begin to understand the strategy, pace, and intensity of competition. They start connecting technique with mindset — learning that grit and preparation make the difference when the match gets tough.
Our goal is to prepare athletes for the high school level both physically and mentally, while reinforcing the values that make Ephrata wrestling stand out.
“This stage is about growth, not perfection. Mistakes are lessons, and every tough match is a test of character.”
Core Focus Areas
Technique Development
Expanding beyond basics into advanced setups, transitions, and counters.

No excuses. Every rep, every mistake, every outcome belongs to you.

Setting examples for younger wrestlers and being part of something bigger than yourself.
Culture: Earning the Purple & Gold
Junior high wrestling is where commitment takes shape. You’ll learn what it means to push through when others quit. You’ll learn how to control the controllables — effort, attitude, and preparation.
